According to International Data Corporation (IDC), Google operating system, Google reach new history during Q3 of 2013. During Q313, total 211,6 million smartphone Android units shipping, accounted for 81% of all smartphone shipment on the world. It’s first time for Android topped 80% in its history. Samsung accounted for 39.9% of all Android shipments for the quarter, while the rest of the vendors either saw single-digit market share or, in the case of the majority of vendors, market share of less than 1%.
Android is not the only platform doing well. Although not quite there yet in terms of total marketshare, Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform grew by 156% year-over-year, reaching 3.6% market share in the third quarter in terms of shipment. Nokia alone contributed to 93.2% of the total shipments. Total 9.5 million WP device units shipping.
iOS also continued it’s slower but continued growth, with a 12.9% market share that is 25.6% over last year. Meanwhile Blackberry recorded decline during 3Q13. BB record -80.1% shipping over last year. Blackberry “just” sell 4.5 million units in Q313.
